Software basics
Is the label printing software really free?
Label editing, barcode generation, GLB files and printing are free. Experimental AI photo conversion requires your own API key and may incur separate API charges.
What computer do I need? Does it run on low-spec PCs?
Windows 10/11 is all you need. It runs light — 4GB RAM and 500MB of disk are enough, so even store POS PCs handle it well.
Will it work with the label printer I already own?
Yes, if your model is on the list. GoodLabel Designer is not tied to one manufacturer: in Printer settings you can choose label printer models from 9 brands: Zebra, TSC, Godex, BIXOLON, SATO, Toshiba, Honeywell, Xprinter and GoodLabel. In terms of printer language, these are ZPL, TSPL, EZPL, TPCL and DPL printers. ZPL, TSPL and EZPL printers receive the label directly (RAW), while Toshiba (TPCL) and Honeywell DPL models print through the Windows driver. Either way, the printer’s Windows driver must be installed. To see whether your model is listed and which resolution (203, 300 or 600 DPI) each model uses, choose your brand on the compatible printers page. If your model is not listed, contact us and we will check it.
I'm not good with computers. Can I install it?
Yes! Run the installer, then follow the 3-step printer wizard (search model → pick driver → confirm). Most people print their first label within 5 minutes. If you get stuck, contact us by email via the Contact page.
Can I save a label and reuse it later?
Yes! Save it as a .glb file and double-click to reopen anytime. Serial numbers continue from where you left off, and you can keep several labels open in tabs.
Where do I change the language and the ruler and grid settings?
In Preferences you can choose from 12 languages, including Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese. The text in your documents is not translated automatically. Use Preferences on the right side of the ribbon to change the interface language and show or hide the rulers and grid. Rulers and grid are on by default.

Features
Can it create barcodes? What about QR codes?
69 is the number of selectable barcode entries, including beta, legacy and NEW rendering variants. It is not a count of distinct international standards. Generate CODE128, EAN13, QR, Data Matrix, GS1, Food QR and other 1D/2D barcodes. Beta entries are included in the supported list. Verify printed labels with your actual scanner.
Can I print labels in bulk from an Excel product list?
Yes! Link an Excel (.xlsx/.xls) or CSV file, map columns to the text and barcodes on your label, and one print job produces a different label per row. Per-row quantities are supported too.
Can it print auto-incrementing serial numbers?
Yes! Set the start value, step and digits (0001, 0002…) and the number increases with every label. Prefixes/suffixes like SN- are supported, and progress is saved in the file.
Can it stamp production dates and expiry dates automatically?
Yes! The print-time date/time is inserted automatically in your chosen format (e.g. 2026-08-25 or 20260825), and a day-offset gives you expiry dates like 'production +14 days' without typing.

Can I put my company logo on labels?
Yes! Upload JPG, PNG or SVG. Since label printers print in black, a built-in monochrome conversion keeps logos crisp. Certification and recycling marks are built in as clickable icons.
Can I make table-style labels (like ingredient tables)?
The table tool opens the new editor first. Merge or split cells, resize individual rows and columns, and fit row heights to content. Existing tables remain editable.
Can it print on multi-cell label sheets (like A4 sticker sheets)?
Yes! Enter the sheet size and rows × columns, design just one cell, and the software lays out the whole sheet automatically. Round label sheets are supported too.

Can I make long vertical labels?
Yes! Label sizes are free from 10–500mm wide and 5–1000mm tall, with a screen-rotate view for comfortable vertical editing. Text and barcodes rotate in 90° steps.
Can I use label templates without signing in and buy the same label stock?
Without signing in, you can open a bundled template as a new document. In Buy labels, choose the stock, then the size, then the product to open its page in our Korean online store. The product linked to a document stays linked after you save and reopen it. Outside Korea, orders are handled by email only — contact us by email via the Contact page.

Printing & printers
My prints come out too light (or too dark).
Adjust the Darkness slider in the print dialog — the valid range for your printer language is applied automatically. Raise it a step or two; on thermal-transfer printers also check the ribbon.
Labels come out shifted, or blank labels appear.
That's the printer losing track of label gaps. Run 'Auto detect' (media sensor calibration) in the Troubleshoot menu — it fixes most cases. Also check the media type (gap/continuous/black-mark) matches your stock.
The print position is slightly off. Can I fine-tune it?
Yes! Advanced settings offer left/right margins and a vertical offset in millimeters — use a negative value to pull printing upward.
I don't have a label printer yet. Which one should I buy?
It depends on label size, volume and material (direct thermal vs ribbon). Email us your use case — we recommend a printer, bundle the right label stock, and pre-configure everything before shipping.
Can I print labels offline?
After installation, basic editing, local GLB files, bundled templates and printer output work offline. Downloads, updates, shopping pages and AI services require internet access.
Label stock & supplies
Which label stock and supplies should I use?
The software works with virtually all commercially available label stock. Good Label stock is checked with our software and printers.
Can I keep using the label rolls I already have?
Yes! Enter any size in millimeters (10–500 × 5–1000mm) when creating a document and design for your existing stock as-is.
Do you have waterproof, freezer or heat-resistant labels?
Yes for waterproof labels: our synthetic stock comes in a direct thermal version (no ribbon) and a thermal transfer version (ribbon required), both factory-direct. We also make freezer (cold-resistant) labels and heat-resistant labels. Freezer labels are made from cold-resistant stock coated with a special adhesive and are produced separately for winter waybill labels used by Korean couriers and for frozen food. Heat-resistant labels are high-temperature labels of the kind used in semiconductor manufacturing and similar fields. Both are produced separately to order, so contact us by email via the Contact page with the storage temperature, the surface the label goes on and how it will be used, and we will advise on suitable specifications.

I make clothing. Can it print garment care labels?
Yes! US and EU wash-care symbols are built in — click to place washing, bleaching, drying and ironing icons. We also sell satin/nylon care-label stock and 300 dpi care-label printers, set up and ready to print — contact us by email via the Contact page.
I sell online. Can I use it for shipping labels?
Yes! Link your order spreadsheet and print recipient-specific shipping labels in one batch, with CODE128 tracking barcodes generated automatically. We also stock 100×150mm shipping label rolls.
Can I make store price tags and product barcode labels?
Yes! Enter a number and a retail EAN-13 barcode is generated automatically (in Korea, product barcodes start with 88); lay it out with the product name and price. For many SKUs, use Excel linking to print every item at once.
Food manufacturing — ingredient panels and Food QR?
Yes! Build information panels with the table tool, and Food QR (foodqr.kr) from Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) is natively supported — enter the product code and a compliant QR is generated. Certification marks are built in.
Does it support GS1 barcodes with lot and expiry (for manufacturing)?
Yes! GS1-128, GS1 DataMatrix and GS1 QR with an AI builder — combine (01) GTIN, (10) lot, (17) expiry, (21) serial and the software validates the format. Combine with Excel for bulk supplier labels.

In Korea, label stock is sold through our Korean online store. Outside Korea, orders are handled by email only — see the email address below.
Can I get advice before adopting it for my business?
