Soft, glossy satin care labels for high-end garments where feel and finish matter. Continuous fabric, 30, 35 and 40mm wide × 200M, printed by thermal transfer with the 40mm care ribbon. Less sharp than nylon cross, so raise EZPL density step by step from the default 13 and use text one size larger.

Satin care labels are a soft, glossy fabric, sewn as 30, 35 and 40mm-wide wash labels into high-end garments where the feel against the skin and the finish matter. On the other hand, print sharpness is lower than nylon cross, so even at the same 30–40mm width it is better to allow a little more text size and density.

Adjustments for crisp text on glossy fabric
- For small elements such as wash symbols and material content, make the text one size larger than on nylon cross and do a test print on one satin label first.
- On printers that print in EZPL, such as the Godex G530, Density in the Print window ranges from 0 to 19 (default 13). If strokes break up on satin, raise it one step at a time from 13 and do a test print.
- Speed ranges from 1 to 7 (default 3). If it is still faint after raising density, lower the speed below 3 and print again.
- One dot on the G530's 300dpi head is about 0.085mm, so 35mm-wide fabric prints 414 dots wide.
GoodLabel Designer setup when alternating with nylon cross rolls
Both fabrics are 200M continuous fabric without individual labels and print by thermal transfer with the same care ribbon 40mm. So when you switch to a satin roll of a different width, change only the width in Label size in the Printer settings panel to the new width. The Printer settings panel accepts widths from 10mm, so 30mm can be entered as is.
Keep Media type at Continuous media and Print method at Thermal transfer, exactly as when nylon cross is loaded in the G530. Hanging the 200M roll on the external holder outside the printer is also the same for both fabrics.

FAQ
- Small text printed on satin is fainter than on nylon cross.
- Satin is a fabric that prints less sharply than nylon cross. On EZPL printers, raise density one step at a time from the default 13, and if strokes are still faint, make the text one size larger and print again.
- Do I need a separate ribbon for satin?
- No. Both nylon cross and satin print with the single care ribbon 40mm x 300M.
- What do I change in the Designer when I switch from a nylon cross roll to a satin roll?
- If the width is the same, nothing. If the width differs, change only the label width in the Printer settings panel to the new width, 30, 35 or 40. Leave Continuous media and Thermal transfer as they are.
