Godex RT730i label printer
The Godex RT730i has the RT700i's LCD and ports with a 300dpi head, printing up to 105.7mm wide and 762mm per label at 127mm per second. Choose the RT730i (EZPL, 300dpi) entry in GoodLabel Designer and the resolution is fixed automatically; a 60x40mm label is drawn 709 dots wide.

The Godex RT730i is the 300dpi model with a 12-dots-per-mm head on the same body, LCD and port configuration as the RT700i. It is registered in the GoodLabel Designer list only as EZPL, 300dpi, so the moment you choose the model, the resolution is fixed at 300 DPI and the label is drawn at 300 dots per inch.

The same 60x40mm label is drawn 709 dots wide at 300dpi, so character strokes and 2D code modules are divided more finely. Module size in the barcode properties is entered in mm, and widths are recalculated automatically when the resolution changes, so you do not need to measure modules again when you bring over a file made for 203dpi.
The 762mm length limit and the Height field
The label Height field goes up to 1000mm, but the longest single label the 300dpi printer accepts is 762mm. For long strip labels, reduce the height to within 762mm so that length is sent in the ^Q command on the first label of the job; if you need a single label up to 1,727mm, use the RT700i.
The LCD Speed item is listed as "2-5 or 7" for the whole series, and the top speed of the 300dpi model is 5ips. The speed field in the Print window opens as 1-7 (default 3) for all Godex entries and is sent with the ^S command on every label.
Locking printer settings with the LCD password
While the print method is left at "Printer settings" or the media type is set to Black mark, the method and media reference stored on the LCD are used for printing as they are. In places where several people press the printer buttons, such as a store checkout counter, lock these two settings with the LCD password.
- On the main screen, choose Device and press FEED to show the LCD Password item.
- Change the item, which is Disable at the factory, to Enable with the arrow buttons, and press the right button to enter the password.
- Press FEED twice to save; press it once more to return to the previous settings screen.
Whether EZPL commands override each LCD item or the printer setting remains is the same as in the LCD table on the RT700i page.

FAQ
- What do I change to print a .glb file made for the RT700i on the RT730i?
- The file opens with the RT700i and 203dpi it was saved with, so change the model to RT730i in the Printer settings window. When the resolution changes to 300dpi, barcode widths and module sizes are recalculated.
- Can I choose the RT730iW entry?
- The RT730iW entry is also registered as EZPL, 300dpi, so the same commands are sent. If the queue name contains RT730iW, that entry is detected automatically, and the print result is the same whichever you choose.
- Can the RT730i print an 800mm label as a single label?
- The RT730i accepts up to 762mm per label, so 800mm is too long. The designer Height field accepts up to 1000mm, but print a single label longer than 762mm on the RT700i, which accepts up to 1,727mm.
