Godex ZX1200i label printer

The Godex ZX1200i is a 203dpi industrial printer with a metal body and a 3.2-inch touch LCD. It prints at 254mm per second (10ips) and accepts up to 4,572mm per label. In GoodLabel Designer it is registered with the ZX1200i entry (EZPL, 203dpi) in the list, and the same EZPL commands as for desktop Godex printers go to the printer without passing through a driver.

Left-aligned sensors and roll requirements

On the desktop G500 and RT700i, the see-through sensor is fixed at the center of the media, but on the ZX1200i both the reflective and see-through sensors are left-aligned. Each time you change the roll, set the guide against the roll width; for black mark rolls, move the reflective sensor to the mark line before measuring.

GoodLabel wax ribbon 300M comes in widths of 40-110mm, all within the ribbon width range, and its length is within the 450m limit. For synthetic labels exposed to scratches or chemicals, switch to the wax-resin or resin grade of the same 300M length.

The 4,572mm printer limit and the 1000mm Height field

The ZX1200i accepts long strip labels up to 4,572mm as a single label, but the designer label Height field stops at 1000mm. Strips longer than 1m cannot be designed as a single label in the designer, so split them within 1000mm.

If you start from the 80x40mm product information label shared template, it is drawn 640 dots wide and 320 dots high, and with the 3mm gap unchanged, ^W80 and ^Q40,3 are attached to the first label of the job. EZPL conversion of other fields follows the table on the G500 page.

FEED key lights and the rear C button

• A single FEED key also serves as PAUSE and CANCEL, and the key backlight turns green when ready and red on an error.
• Pressing FEED in standby enters pause mode, where the printer only receives commands; pressing it again processes the received jobs.
• Pressing the rear C button for 2 seconds does the same as the automatic measurement command ~S,SENSOR, measuring the label and ribbon conditions again, and the job in progress is canceled.
• Turn the power off, then turn it on while holding FEED, and release when the light blinks red; the printer measures the label height and prints one self-test label.

If a job sent from the designer has stopped and the light is green, press FEED once to leave pause mode. If it is red, find the cause from the LCD error screen and the number of beeps; the head (2 x 4 times), ribbon (2 x 3 times) and media (2 x 2 times) groups are the same as in the beep table on the G500 page.
