Toshiba B-EX6T1 label printer
The Toshiba B-EX6T1 is a 6-inch industrial printer that prints 159.9mm wide on media 50-165mm wide including liner. The variant sold is the 305dpi TS model, taking 55-170mm edge-head ribbons. Click 300 DPI in the B-EX6T1 (TPCL) entry of GoodLabel Designer to design 150mm wide labels at full size.

The Toshiba B-EX6T1 is a 6-inch industrial printer that takes media up to 165mm wide and prints 159.9mm wide. The variant sold is the model with the 305dpi (12 dots/mm) TS head. The B-EX6T1 entry (TPCL) in the GoodLabel Designer list has 203 and 300 DPI buttons, so for the TS printer click 300 DPI, and print through the Toshiba Windows driver.
Entering 150mm wide labels and print width
The label Width field in the designer's Printer settings window accepts 10-500mm, so all label widths the B-EX6T1 prints, 47-162mm, can be entered. On the other hand, the lower limit of media width including liner is 50mm, so narrow rolls such as 30 or 40mm wide cannot be loaded on this model.

For labels that reach the edge of the print width, 1.5mm at the media edge and 1mm around the label are outside the guaranteed print area, so keep text and barcodes toward the inside. The reason a 305dpi head is used with the 300 DPI button is the same as in the TS description on the B-EX4T1 page, and the fields to set on the driver side are collected on the BA420T page.
Edge-head ribbons 55-170mm
The B-EX6T1 (Type1) uses ribbons for edge heads: width 55-170mm, length up to 600m (800m for Toshiba AG6E ribbon), outer diameter up to 90mm, core inner diameter 25.7mm, wound with the ink side out.

Choose a ribbon at least 5mm wider than the media. GoodLabel ribbons go up to 110mm wide and their product names do not state the head type, so they are not paired with the B-EX6T1.
Roll and gap requirements
- The media core inner diameter is 76.2mm, the roll outer diameter is up to 200mm, and rolls are wound with the print side inside.
- In batch issue, the media pitch is 10-1,500mm, the gap between labels is 2-20mm, and the label length must be at least 3 times the gap.
- Media thickness is 0.13-0.17mm for labels and 0.15-0.25mm for tags.
- The designer label Height field goes up to 1000mm, so of the 1,500mm pitch, the longest you can design as one label is 1m.
Enter the gap in Label Gap on the Stock tab of the Toshiba driver, not in the designer's Advanced settings, and match the sensor type to the roll in Sensor on the same tab.

FAQ
- Can I print 4-inch labels on the B-EX6T1?
- Yes, if the width including liner is 50mm or more. A 100mm wide label fits within the 159.9mm print width with room to spare, and by Toshiba's ribbon table the matching ribbon for edge heads is 112mm or 114mm.
- What conditions must the marks meet to use rolls with black marks on the back on the B-EX6T1?
- The marks must have a reflectance of 10% or less at a wavelength of 950nm and be printed at the gap positions between labels. Move the reflective sensor, between the media center and the left edge, to the center of the mark. If nothing is printed on the back, square holes are also read in place of marks.
- Can I use rolls wound outside instead of inside?
- The B-EX6T1 media roll spec is a roll wound with the print side inside, on a 76.2mm core, up to 200mm outer diameter. For rolls that differ from this, first check feeding and sensor detection with a test print.
